Everton are gearing up for the upcoming season of the Premier League. On Thursday, they became the first first Premier League club to use their women’s squad to launch their new away kit.
Chloe Kelly, Megan Finnigan, Danielle Turner and Kirsty Levell featured in Everton’s away kit release. The kit will also be worn by the men’s first team and Under-23s sides throughout the 2018-19 season.
“I am delighted to be a part of this ground-breaking, inspirational campaign,” Everton women’s team captain Danielle Turner said.
“To be the first women’s team to be given this opportunity is a real reflection of Everton’s one-club philosophy and their commitment to growing the profile of the women’s game.”
The new kit, which will be worn for the first time in pre-season friendlies this weekend, was also created as part of an extensive 15-month collaboration with Everton fans to understand their preferences on the colour and design of their team’s strips.
Fans strongly supported a dark kit with flashes of colour for an away design, so the resulting carbon-coloured shirt with black sleeves and an eye-catching ‘pink glo’ colour trim should be popular.
The ‘pink glo’ colour is used to highlight the diamond taping on the cuffs, the Club crest and sponsor logos, plus the graphic interpretation of the iconic St Rupert’s Tower featured on the nape of the neck.
The kit is completed by shorts and socks in the same carbon colour with elements of ‘pink glo’.
Alongside the outfield kit, a striking goalkeeper shirt in ‘safety yellow’ with ‘shocking orange’ colour detailing on the sleeves has been revealed. Yellow shorts and socks with an orange trim complete the look for the women and men standing between the goalposts.
The Blue Girls will also be the first team to wear the kit when they tackle fiercest rivals Liverpool in their opening pre-season friendly of the summer this weekend.
Everton, who finished 8th last season in the Premier League, start their campaign in the new season against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 11.
